One Regenerative Ocean.

The 30 Reefs Initiative was developed by Global Coralition. With partners such as Project Zero getting behind it. We are focused on creating coralitions across 30 optimal reef sites to accelerate strategic collaboration and regeneration of our reef ecosystems.

From 50 reefs to 30

Initially inspired by the 50 Reefs Study by the Ocean Agency, which mapped the ocean for the top 50 sites — that if restored, could reseed other regions over time — the 30 Reefs Initiative is focused on active regeneration and accelerating collaboration and solutions.

Art, science & community

We utilize a unique approach of launching a large-scale sculpture at each site, catalyzing awareness, partnerships and giving a unique identity and voice to each reef.

We map each site with our AI tool, understanding what techniques are being used by which organizations across the region and what strategies are not being done and could be useful. We then facilitate collaboration, training and funding to scale local efforts.

An earthshot mission

We believe we have the science, the creativity and the capability to regenerate our reefs in our lifetime. We need a coordinated plan and for people to work together.
